Title International Corporate Governance 
Description Multicultural teams will analyze 'best' Corporate Governance
Practices of international companies and institutions (ie, hospital
governance) in a specific country, using the approach presented in
'New Corporate Governance' by Martin Hilb (Springer, 4th edition,
New York, 2012) and appropriate literature and guidelines supplied
during the lectures.

OBJECTIVES:
To gain awareness of the state of Corporate Governance in different
parts of the world and to be able to critically analyze Corporate
Governance at firms as well as existing guidelines in general. The
course supplies an integrated approach to the theory and practice
of Corporate Governance. We will develop, introduce and evaluate a
range of new board instruments.

ASSIGNMENTS:
(A) Multicultural team presentation on selected country corporate
governance guidelines: Choose a country and analyze the strengths
and weakness of the country’s corporate governance guidelines.
(B) Multicultural team presentation of a selected company corporate
governance: Apply Prof. Hilb’s KISS principle to your chosen firm
and analyze the quality of their corporate governance. Then make
specific recommendations.


ASSESSMENT:
(i) Final individual written exam (30%)
(ii) Presentation A: Country corporate governance guidelines
evaluation (35%)
(iii) Presentation B: Company corporate governance analysis and
recommendations (35%)
